To celebrate father's day, we checked in at The Manila Peninsula hotel. This was the same hotel Jeremy Renner stayed at when he shot The Bourne Legacy.
This was an opportunity for me to work on my rc drift car. Something that I've wanted to do for a long time. I figured my wife and son would sleep early and I'd sleep in the wee hours of the following day.
After a few minutes of tinkering with the car, I found out that my allen driver was loose. I'd have to have another allen driver of the same size to tighten it. So I conjured up enough strength to ring up housekeeping and took my chance of not getting a "what are you talking about" response from a female receptionist. The response I got was, "let me ask engineering". Feeling hopeless, I started packing my stuff up and planned to go to the nearest hobby store in Glorietta to buy a new driver. Then I heard a cart pull up to our door, and frighteningly rang the doorbell. Thank God my wife and son didn't hear it, or else my wife would have given me the "gising ka pa?!" look. I popped the door open and to my amazement, 2 engineering guys looking like Handy Manny, was at my door and ready to help. Along with them was a cart about the size of a small cabinet full of "goodies" that any middle aged tinkering man would only dream of. It seemed that they had enough tools to make fix up an entire room. So they handed me the driver I needed. Tightened my own driver and continued with the conversion. I wasn't able to finish since the suspension clamps were made to be close together to one another which made the stock hinge pins too long. I plan to shave some off of it when we get home.
